In the Hunter's Hill Council area, many of our residents are motivated to act for a sustainable future so, by living here, you're already part of our journey towards net zero emissions.
Council has developed a Draft Net Zero Implementation Plan which is a critical document that outlines how we, as a community, will reach net zero emissions.
Council has already demonstrated climate action including:
developing a Sustainability Action Plan in 2022,
signing on to an 100% renewable energy agreement,
purchasing 4 electric vehicles in our fleet, and
installing solar panels on the Town Hall roof.
The Australian and NSW Governments have both committed to net zero emissions by 2050. Having declared a 'Climate Emergency' in 2020, Council is looking to formally endorse support for this target.
There is much more Council and our community can do to reduce emissions and meet this target.
Have Your Say:
The Draft Plan will be on public exhibition from Thursday 19 December 2024 Sunday 23 February 2025.
Feedback will be received up until 5pm on Sunday 23 February via the below form.
