The playground at Figtree Park is closed while we upgrade the equipment. The new equipment will include an accessible swing and carousel and a pixel panel and musical wheel. The playground is expected to reopen in early March, weather permitting. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to sharing the new playground with the community soon.
Update - October 2025
Stage two works of the Figtree Park Revitalisation Project are scheduled to begin the week commencing Monday 27 October.
The works include:
installation of a Changing Places Toilet
additional play equipment
new bench seating
landscaping work
The works are expected to be completed over the coming months, weather permitting.
Fencing has been erected around work areas. During construction, these areas will be temporarily closed.
This project is being funded by the NSW Government’s Public Spaces Legacy Program.
Background
An upgrade of Figtree Park was completed, and an official re-opening of the revitalised park took place on Saturday, 15 June 2024.
The demolition of a dwelling at 48 Gladesville Road allowed Council to provide additional open space in the park, including a new entrance and plaza area from Gladesville Road providing better access with proximity to the Hunters Hill Village shops.
Other improvements include:
construction of an accessible pathway;
installation of a new drainage system;
installation of lighting;
planting of garden beds and new trees;
installation of park furniture, including seating, bubblers etc;
construction of a new playground with climbing structures, a nest swing, spring rider, outdoor musical percussion, talking tubes and a rope ladder leading to an elevated platform
This project has been proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Public Spaces Legacy Program.
