Alterations and additions to the existing Woolwich Marina to expand the berthing facilities from 45 to 79 berths to enable a range of different vessel typologies

The above matter is the subject of an appeal to the NSW Land and Environment Court in response to the Sydney North Planning Panel's refusal of Development Application DA20230094.
The Court has granted the Applicant leave to rely on further amended plans and supporting information. Broadly, the Applicant has advised that the amendments involve:
Reorientation of the layout and footprint of the marina including removal of the most southern arm and increased berths to the west of the existing marina;
A reduction in the area enclosed by the marina
Amendment to the lengths of boats permitted from 35m to 25m;
Reorientation of the gangway under the bridge to allow paddle craft under the marina and provide for accessible access to marina pontoons;
Changes to arrangements to moorings to be relinquished or relocated;
Addition of wave attenuator using existing piles;
Public facilities including public pump out, temporary berths for public ramp users and crane sling for persons with a disability;
An additional two car spaces of site; and
Information regarding vessels and location of habitat
As a result of the changes now proposed, the amended development proposal has been placed on public exhibition and the community is invited to review the amended proposal and make a submission should you wish.
Submissions should be submitted no later than Friday27 June 2025.
Additionally, it is understood that the Applicant is still in the process of preparing additional material to accompany this amended application in relation to aboriginal heritage, heritage, maritime archaeology and an updated preliminary site investigation. We will provide this additional information if/when the Court has granted the Applicant leave to rely on it and it will be the subject of an additional notification period.
