Consultation has concluded

In 2014, Council reviewed its Significant Tree Register (STR) and developed an updated Register where every listing is now supported by a Tree Profile Sheet that provides details about the subject trees and the criteria used to establish their significance. From 2021, Council has accepted nominations for trees to be added to the STR, resulting in an additional 54 potential STR listings. A suitably qualified tree consultant has completed assessment of these new nominations, resulting in 17 draft new STR listings.

At the Ordinary Council meeting of 28 October 2024, Council resolved to exhibit these 17 draft new STR listings for a period of 28 days. The draft new STR listings will be exhibited from 30 October to 4 December 2024. During this period, submissions about the draft new STR listings to be included on the Register are encouraged.

Provided below is:

  • Significant Tree Register and Background Paper. This document addresses amongst other topics - the purpose of a Significant Tree Register, the way significance is assessed, the implications of a listing and the landscape history of the Hunters Hill Local Government Area.
  • Draft new STR listings with links to the draft Tree Profile Sheets.

Submissions will be received up until 5pm on 4 December 2024 via the below form.
