Why is spraying needed?
The Gladesville Reserve surface will be sprayed with herbicide to ensure that when new turf is laid there will be no contamination issues.
Will the area being sprayed be safe to the public?
Fencing will be installed around the site prior to the herbicide application. This will ensure no public access to the reserve. In addition, should there be any members of the public in the area at the time of spraying, the application will pause until it is safe to continue.
When will spraying take place?
The herbicide spraying is expected to happen on:
Each application takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
What other safety measures will be in place?
Signage will be erected, which clearly states that herbicide spraying is underway.
What happens if its windy?
In the case of wind of more than 15 km/h or any rain in the 4-5 hours pre- or post the application, spraying will be postponed.
How will the trees be protected?
Targeted application tools will be used to ensure there is no spray drift in addition to using no risk herbicide.
